German born Christa Päffgen but better known as Nico was a model, actress, singer-songwriter and Warhol Superstar. Singer in the Velvet Underground, muse of Lou Reed (For short period of time, albeit), a member of Andy warhol's innermost circle and member of Warhol’s Factory, along with her experimental films like Chelsea Girls.
Her modelling career in the late 50s-60s launched her to super stardom. Her song These Days is one of my favourite songs of all time, and her voice is haunting yet beautiful.
If you have never heard her, go and listen to Desertshore, you wont regret it.
